OXBOW, Oregon, Aug. 4, 2017 — The road over Hells Canyon Dam will be closed to all traffic from 7 a.m.–4:30 p.m. MDT on Monday, Aug. 7, through Thursday, Aug. 10. A crane being used to move stop-logs from one of the dam’s outlet gates will require the road to be closed. Flaggers at the dam will alert motorists.
The road will open to allow traffic to cross according to the following schedule:
- Monday, Aug. 7: Open from 12:30–1:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, Aug. 8: Open from 12:30–1:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, Aug. 9: Open from 10:30–11:30 a.m.
- Thursday, Aug. 10: Open from 9:30–10 a.m. and 1–1:30 p.m.
Motorists should plan to cross during these times, or before or after the closure periods. The above schedule accommodates the tour times for Hells Canyon Adventures passengers.
